Nokia joins hands with Microsoft to become smartphone leader

World’s largest cellphone maker Nokia has joined hands with software giant Microsoft to form a broad strategic partnership, so that they can defeat their rivals like Apple iPhone and Google Android phones. The partnership was announced on Feb 11, 2011.

Under the new strategy, MeeGo becomes an open-source, mobile operating system project. Nokia will contribute its expertise on hardware design, language support, price points, market segments etc. Nokia will adopt Microsoft’s Bing search engine for it’s devices and services.

So lets wait for Nokia Windows Phones.
