Nokia on 12 APRIL 2011 announced the new and updated version of Symbian OS as Anna which has been referred to previously as PR2.
The main features of Symbian Anna are:
- faster browser,
- improved text input,
- fresh and new icons
- latest version of Ovi Maps

This Symbian Anna will be available for models like E6, X7, N8, C7, C6-01 and E7.
Anna features the long-awaited portrait QWERTY input. The web browser that comes with Anna is more faster and easier to use. Photo gallery also improved. It also includes instant messaging with Microsoft Communicator Mobile and email enhancement.
